For F-One kiteboarding, it's all about the experience, for everyone. They refer to it as 'One culture.' F-One's kitesurfing philosophy is as follows: from freestyle to foil kitesurfing. Man or woman. From beginners to experienced kitesurfers. From young to seasoned kitesurfers. Specialized or all-round. For recreational and professional kitesurfers. Kitesurfers and SUP enthusiasts. Whatever you ride, whoever you are, we share the same passion and emotion for our watersport. That's the idea and thought behind F-One's daily development of kites and kiteboards, for everyone. In recent years, this has resulted in kitesurfing products like the F-One Bandit and WTF kite, the F-One Trax kiteboard, and other kitesurfing accessories for kitesurfers of all levels and styles.

F-One Kitesurf History

The history of F-One takes us back a long way. Like many other brands, F-One kitesurfing emerged when an older, seasoned professional windsurfer saw opportunities in the kitesurfing sport. It all began in 1976 when the French founder of F-One, Raphaël Salles, started windsurfing. Salles quickly became one of the best French windsurfers and, in 1981, participated in the pro windsurfing tour for the first time. During that time, he windsurfed with an F-1 (France-1) sail, perhaps contributing to the later name of the kitesurfing brand, F-One. After years of professional windsurfing competitions, Salles retired from his professional windsurfing career in 1994 and decided to start a business designing and distributing windsurf boards. This marked the birth of F-One and, eventually, F-One kiteboarding.
Since the establishment of F-One in 1994, Raphaël Salles, along with his kite design team, has not been idle. With years of experience in windsurfing, Salles knew what it took to make his kitesurfing brand a success. In 1996, Salles took his first ride with a "kite" and a windsurf board. The kite at that time still resembled a large stunt kite, but it could be ridden. The first years for F-One mainly involved testing and improving kites and kitesurf boards. In 1997 and 1998, F-One entered a new era by beginning to produce kitesurf boards. Later in those years, F-One developed a complete range of kitesurfing materials and quickly became a market leader in the kitesurfing world, especially in boards. F-One kitesurfing materials are sold worldwide. In the following years, F-One continued the development of kitesurfing materials.

F-One Kiteboarding Development

In 2000, F-One introduced its first kite on the market with sealed compartments in sizes of 5m, 7m, and 9m. Later that year, F-One was able to release its first range of high-end twintip kiteboards ranging in size from 142 to 174 cm. The kiteboards were made in France, using a Herex core and full carbon laminate with, for the time, fantastic prints. During this period, F-One was a true pioneer in the field of kitesurf twintip technology.
2002 was the year when F-One brought its first range of inflatable kites to the market. This included the F-One Mach! and the F-One Magic kite. This marked the beginning of the trend of inflatable kites as we know them today. F-One's collection of kites grew each year, and the developments continued.
In 2006, another breakthrough occurred on the side of F-One. In 2006, F-One developed the F-One Tribal kite and the F-One Trax kiteboard. The F-One Tribal was the very first C-shape kite design with complete depower. The F-One Tribal was further developed for one more year until F-One introduced their most iconic and revolutionary model, the F-One Bandit. The F-One Trax has become the best kiteboard model that F-One has ever produced.

F-One Bandit Development

In 2008, F-One turned the kitesurfing world upside down with its new model, the F-One Bandit kite. F-One even stopped the production of all their previous models, including the Tribal II, Impact, and other kites in their lineup. This decision showed great confidence in introducing an entirely new product to the market without knowing for sure if consumers would accept it. The F-One Bandits flew off the shelves and were highly appreciated for their unique Delta C-shape. Many other brands followed F-One's lead by adopting the Delta C-shape. What immediately stood out about the Bandit were the narrower wingtips and higher-placed bridles. In the following years, F-One continued to develop the Bandit, and it remained F-One's best-selling kite.

In recent years, we have seen significant developments in F-One's surf and foil boards, such as the Mitu. In 2018, two major changes or, better yet, developments were introduced in the world of F-One and kitesurfing. The Linx bar and the WTF kite were launched. After about a decade of using more or less the same bar, F-One finally introduced an exciting new bar. Additionally, in 2018, F-One introduced a true hardcore C-kite without bridles. WTF, which stands for "Win The Freestyle," is F-One's latest kite. The kite features a 5-strut design with a 5-line setup.

F-One Surf- en foil boards

F-One offers a wide range of surf and foil boards. Surfboards like the legendary Mitu, Shadow, and Slice are crafted from top-quality materials to ensure the best performance. They also have foil boards and foils in their lineup. Foilboards such as the Pocket and foils like the IC will double your sessions and provide a lot of fun even with the lightest breeze. Whether you're just starting or highly experienced, F-One undoubtedly has a surf or foil board in its range that suits you.
