Whether you should choose a 2mm shorty or springsuit depends on what you expect from your wetsuit. A shorty is a wetsuit with short arms and short legs and is therefore particularly suitable for warm water and air temperatures. In addition, a shorty gives you maximum freedom of movement and you can tan your arms and legs during your session. A springsuit usually has short legs but long arms, which is why it provides a little better protection against wind chill. In addition, a springsuit gives you a little more protection from the sun on the upper body without having to forfeit a lot of freedom of movement.

2mm wetsuits are recommended for water temperatures of 20-22 degrees Celsius, whereby the air temperature and wind chill play an important role when kitesurfing aswell. A long-sleeved 2mm springsuit protects you a little better from wind chill than a shorty and is well suited when the air is a little cooler outside or when you usually kitesurf in very strong winds. If both air and water are over 22 degrees Celsius, a shorty is usually sufficient.
