The Cabrinha Switchblade 2024 Kite is the longest-running kite in Cabrinha's lineup. The 2024 Switchblade marks the 17th year of the Switchblade, and it's quite an achievement! The Switchblade is a high-aspect 5-strut kite suitable for both big air and freeride. It's a versatile kite, making it ideal for beginners who quickly feel comfortable and progress rapidly. The Switchblade's positioning in the wind window allows effortless upwind riding, coupled with easy relaunch properties, making it the perfect entry-level kite post-lessons. Advanced kite surfers will also be amazed by the Switchblade's performance. Designed for rapid progression, the new Switchblade guarantees substantial hangtime, a wide wind range, and effortless boosting for learning new tricks. This year, the Switchblade falls under Cabrinha's Lite series, introducing new HTD Lite materials for the first time. These materials result in significant weight reduction for improved kite performance. The traditional Dacron has been replaced with lightweight and ultra-sturdy Dacron (High Tenacity Dacron). Combined with the new, unique canopy structure, Cabrinha has not only drastically reduced weight but also improved durability and steering speed.

The canopy is made of Nano Ripstop, containing four times more squares than the usual ripstop fabric, making it considerably stiffer and more robust. This added stiffness allows the kite to respond more directly to steering input. The bridles have less stretch to provide an even more direct feel. Cabrinha has utilized stiff EVA battens on the trailing edge to prevent flapping. Durable TPU bumpers have been added to protect the leading edge during hard kite crashes.
