Reedin Kiteboarding the brand
Reedin is a kitesurf brand founded by kitesurfing legend Kevin Langeree and design guru Damien Girardin. Hence the name Ree (Langeree) and din (Girardin). Kevin Langeree is a well-known figure for most kitesurfers. In his early years, Kevin won multiple kitesurf freestyle world titles, and in recent years, he has claimed the RedBull King of the Air title three times. Damien Girardin may not be as familiar to everyone. Damien is a highly experienced kite designer who has developed kites for Naish for many years. Kevin and Damien are now joining forces to launch their own kitesurf brand, Reedin Kiteboarding.
It is Reedin's mission to go faster, jump higher, and reinvent all the possibilities of kitesurfing. Reedin was created to provide you with the best kitesurfing equipment for the ultimate kitesurfing experience. All kites, kiteboards, bars, and surfboards are conceived, designed, and extensively tested by Kevin and Damien. "It's time to go beyond anything that has ever been done before, it's time to fly Reedin," says Kevin and Damien. At Kitemana, we are the first to offer Reedin kites and kiteboards, so you can be the first to experience Reedin kites.
Reedin Kiteboarding the history
Reedin Kites or Reedin Kiteboarding was started in January 2020 by two legends in the kitesurfing world: Kevin Langeree and Damien Girardin. But who are they exactly? Let's begin with Kevin Langeree. Kevin Langeree is a Dutch kitesurfer and a living legend in the kitesurfing sport. Kevin has been at the top of the kitesurfing world for over 20 years. He has won multiple world titles in freestyle kitesurfing and King of the Air championships. No kitesurfing discipline is too challenging for Kevin. Even the biggest waves at Jaws or Dungeons are just another challenge for him. Kevin's true passion lies in big air kitesurfing. Flying was something he wanted to do from a young age, and with his new Reedin kites, it's clear that flying is no longer a problem for Kevin. Style, control, and clean landings perfectly describe Kevin's kitesurfing style. The new Reedin kites give Kevin the confidence to soar beyond that 40-meter mark.
Kevin co-founded Reedin with Damien Girardin. Damien has been working behind the scenes in the kitesurfing world for many years and has tremendous experience in designing kitesurf kites. All that experience is now being brought to Reedin Kiteboarding. In previous years, Damien served as a brand manager and kite designer at Naish. His kite designs, including the Pivot, have had a significant impact on the entire kitesurfing market. Additionally, one of the best kitesurfing bindings, the Naish Apex, is Damien's creation. The Wingsurfer was also Damien's idea, which has been adopted by many other brands. Now, at Reedin, Damien has the freedom to apply his creativity and innovative ideas to the latest Reedin kitesurfing materials.
During their time at Naish, Kevin and Damien collaborated extensively, which has made them a well-coordinated team. Reedin is their platform to introduce new innovative kitesurfing gear to the market for everyone. The goal of Reedin is to create the perfect kitesurfing gear. Reedin is still a young brand and aims to grow organically without the pressure and influence of major investors. This way, Kevin and Damien can truly follow their passion for kitesurfing and do what they believe in.

Reedin Kiteboarding Development
In recent years, Reedin has invested heavily in developing kites to make them better and better. Through the use of new materials and techniques, they consistently achieve improved performance in kites, kiteboards, and accessories, ensuring that you always have up-to-date equipment. The sport of kitesurfing relies heavily on equipment, including kites, kiteboards, and bars. Having good equipment makes kitesurfing more enjoyable and easier. Below are some of the techniques that Reedin employs:
HTF: Hybrid Torsion Frame
By analyzing how the kite precisely rotates, Reedin has discovered how to optimize this process. In the HTF (High Tenacity Frame) frame, two different types of materials with distinct properties are used. The center of the Leading Edge is made of rigid Dacron, making the frame extremely stiff and resistant to deformation even in the most challenging conditions. In certain parts of the tips, Flex Light Dacron is utilized. Flex Light is crafted from thin and tightly-woven threads that respond more rapidly to tension. Using this material in strategic areas allows the kite to rotate faster and more efficiently, making it easier to perform kite loops. The HTF frame is only applied in the Reedin Super Model HTF
Aluula Frame
Reedin also utilizes the unique Aluula material, which has proven itself time and again. Thanks to the Aluula Frame, Reedin can reduce the diameter of the Leading Edge and Struts, enabling the kite to be pulled around more quickly. Aluula ensures that the kite is stiffer, providing an incredibly stable feel even in the gustiest conditions. The Aluula Frame is used in the Reedin Hypermodel.
Reedin kites Over the Years
The Reedin Super Model is perhaps the most well-known kite from Reedin. The Super Model has been in Reedin's lineup since 2020 and is also the longest-running kite in Reedin's product range. The Super Model is Reedin's 'do-it-all' kite and is perfect for every kitesurfing skill level.
The Reedin Super Model HTF is the upgraded version of the Super Model. The HTF model was first introduced in 2023. Because the Reedin Super Model underwent significant changes with the new Hybrid Torsion Frame (HTF), the name of the Super Model had to be updated. The Super Model HTF 2023 features an entirely new Hybrid Torsion Frame construction (HTF). This means that the construction of the leading edge and struts of the Super Model HTF consists of different types of Dacron, enhancing the all-around characteristics of the kite.
The Reedin Hypermodel is Reedin's Aluula kite that made its debut in the Reedin lineup at the end of 2023. Thanks to the Aluula frame, the kite is stiffer, stronger, and lighter, resulting in exceptional performance in all types of conditions. Compared to the HTF, the Hyper Model is 25% lighter, providing excellent low-end performance. Double loops, personal height records, and endless hangtime, that's the Hyper Model.
